Communications Ministry

A key role in the process of developing a structure for the ongoing growth and development of the class is the way in which communication happens throughout the group.  Many of the issues that occur between people and within organizations happen because of communication malfunctions.  Many of the misperceptions and assumptions we make about one another occur because of the ways in which our various messages are sent and received.  The importance of maintaining consistent, creative, and constant communication within our class cannot be overestimated.  This communication should be done with a focus on external growth.  That is, it is important for us to communicate ourselves in such a way that we increase our reputation within the community and invite others to join us in our efforts to serve the Lord.  Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Maintaining a webpage (or series of pages) off the Denver First Church website that will lay out the breadth of the ministry of the Refuge and provide people with connecting points with our community.
  • Creating weekly newsletters that will convey the most pertinent information for the week to our class.
  • Developing advertising for activities, service opportunities, and other aspects of The Refuge.
  • Pursue other creative avenues for communicating to and with others about The Refuge.
